Women’s W.O.V.E.N. Ministry
Women are relationship-oriented and naturally have a need to connect, grow, nurture, and learn from each other through sharing experiences and life stories. The Women’s Ministry of Petra International Ministry, also known as W.O.V.E.N. (Women of Virtue Embracing Newness), has a number of ministries and activities that provide opportunities for the women to worship, fellowship, learn, share, heal, serve, and bond with each other.
We are constantly growing and developing, but here are a few of our current activities;
INTERNAL IMPACT (Contact: Elder Vanessa Davis)
“INTERNAL IMPACT” is designed to create opportunities for women to form bonds and establish relationships through Creative and Purposeful Activities. The current activity, “One Word that will change your life”, will inspire everyone to explore and share that “thing or quality” they desire to see manifested in their lives. Through the blessings that accompany unity, healing and restoration, each woman is purposed to walk away changed INTERNALLY and empowered to be IMPACTFUL in the world around her to the glory of our great and glorious LORD!
HIS FRAGRANCE (Contact: Elder Connie Balthrop)
Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.

His Fragrance is a group of God-inspired women who come together weekly to worship, soak up the presence of the LORD, study together and plan community outreach activities seeking to spread the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.
BOOTS ON THE GROUND (Contact: Elder Nellie Mells)
This group of passionate women strives to stay current in the knowledge of the issues that impact women and children regionally and globally. We look for opportunities to encounter all groups of people experiencing social disparities. We engage in service that empowers the powerless and we have an impact—we seek to leave an impression/imprint of the DNA of Jesus Christ in every soul we meet.
W.O.V.E.N. BOOK CLUB (Contact: Elder Connie Balthrop)
The W.O.V.E.N. Book Club is a group of women who love to read, who love learning and growing through reading, who love sharing ideas, perspectives, and experiences with each other, and thrive upon the encouragement they receive from each other! We are growing together and loving it! We meet on a Saturday once a month to discuss the current book over light refreshments. The discussions are engaging, thought-provoking, and just plain fun! All are welcome to join us as we read, learn, and grow together.
WE CARE MINISTRY (Contact: Elder Mattie Woods)

The We Care Packages Ministry provides support to needy individuals, families, communities and countries. Our We Care Packages have touched the lives of people locally, nationally and internationally. For Instance, this ministry has provided (1053) pairs of shoes to men, women and children in Haiti, Honduras, and to Homeless Shelters in Allegheny County partnering with Soles 4 Souls. Additionally, we have provided storage bags filled with soap, toothbrush & toothpaste, washcloths, deodorant, socks, and other personal supplies to many Homeless Shelters. We seek to be a resource and a helping hand to those in need, whether homeless, imprisoned, in senior facilities, abused shelters, or wherever the need exists. We Care!
DAUGHTERS OF DESTINY (Contact: Elder Kathy Evans)
The Daughters of Destiny is a group of young adult women that come together to share, explore, serve, and seek the wisdom of God in finding and developing their gifts and talents, determining God’s calling upon their lives, and forming a supportive network of young women purposed to impact their families, communities, and the world through their spiritual and natural giftings. They are nurtured by their spiritual mother, “Mama Kathy”, who provides guidance, insight, and love to each daughter.
BROKEN WINGS RESTORED (Contact: Elder Vanessa Davis)
Broken Wings Restored ministry offers emotional and spiritual support during these extraordinary times of loss and grief that so many dear ones are walking through. Through the love and guidance of the Holy Spirit, we are here to provide hope, comfort, and encouragement to assist in the healing of broken and hurting hearts.
